Name: Seismic Sense

Description: A technique originally developed by a group of blind warrior monks, skilled doton users are able to sense vibrations through the ground, "seeing" by sensing their surroundings and making a mental image of it. It allows for a 360 degree field of "vision", outside of normal line-of-sight. To operate, the user needs direct contact with the ground, preferably without something like shoes in between. Seismic sense is not without its limitations. The practitioner must always be in direct contact with solid earth to use the sense at all and the ability only detects things if they are in contact with the same mass of earth the user is contacting, or made of earthen materials. Non-earthen objects floating in water or thrown into the air are undetectable, unless by extrapolation from the detected positions of the launching point. If the user is in the air or water, or even standing on a non-earth solid such as ice or wood, the bender will be unable to sense anything through that substance. Although allowing the user to detect their surroundings in detail, the sub-skill does not allow for perception of facial features or written characters, due to the fact that they are not made of or in contact with earth. In basic conditions, the user is able to 'see' up to a quarter mile [roughly 400 meters] away

An interesting thing to note is that users with high enough REA [At least A-0] can detect if a person is lying to them if Seismic Sense is active. Since humans have a physical reaction when they lie, such as a heightened heart rate, those who have perfected this skill can lock on to those physiological changes and tell whether or not a person is lying. However, these reactions can be suppressed by individuals with great control over their emotions [Those with a higher REA than the user] rendering even the most skilled seismic sense practitioner unable to tell if a statement is a lie. This technique is passive, not costing chakra to use.

Description:A futon variation of the Seismic Sense technique, this jutsu allows the user to thread thier chakra into the air around them and allow them to 'feel' out thier surroundings. It allows for a 360 degree field of "vision", outside of normal line-of-sight. To operate, the user needs direct contact with the air around them, preferably without something like clothes in between. This technique is not without its limitations. The practitioner must always be in direct contact with air to use the sense at all and the ability only detects things if they are in contact with the same mass of air the user is contacting [I.e., if someone is in a sealed off room, the user cannot sense them unless a door or window is opened, allowing air to circulate within and escape. Although allowing the user to detect their surroundings in detail, the sub-skill does not allow for perception of facial features or written characters. In basic conditions, the user is able to 'see' up to a quarter mile [roughly 400 meters] away. This technique is passive, not costing chakra to use.

Because of the way this technique works, the user is easily picked up by chakra sensing techniques, as thier chakra signature is essentially everywhere when one is within the range of the technique.

Description: An incredibly simple technique that quickly displaces the air around the user with the goal of kicking up a substantial amount of small debris in the area. If successful the user appearance will become impeded by the debris allowing them to act without being seen by an opponent. This technique is particularly useful in shrouding a user's direction of movement if used together with the Body Flicker Technique. As this technique utilizes natural debris and only a small amount of chakra it can be utilized by even amateur wind user's. The clouded area will clear after three posts.

Description: More akin to Ice Prsion than Water Prison, the Wind Prison jutsu is accomplished by wrapping the target in a thick sphere of typhoon force winds; rotating and counter-rotating wildly in a way that makes escape nearly impossible. Strong currents of air inside the prison keep the target suspended in the center, away from the walls that upon contact will cause moderate shreading injuries; 1/2in deep gashes and torn clothing. The user of the prison jutsu is immune to this effect as their hand is encased in chakra while maintaining the jutsu. This jutsu has excellent defensive properties; being able to deflect all small projectiles (Senbon, Shuriken, etc) and up to 5 equal or lower rank jutsu not of the Raiton variety. Piercing Raiton jutsu go right through the wind with no resitance at all.

Description: Heavenly Wind Palm (天風掌, Amafūshō) is a rudimentary wind natured technique that allows the user to project a concentrated gust of wind towards intended targets. It is performed by quickly gathering and compressing a sufficient wind in the user's hand in a spiral fashion before releasing the dense mass towards a desired target with a palm thrust. The amount of time it takes to collect and shape the wind of this technique is dependent on the user's chakra control and proficiency with the Wind Release. As such this technique's gusts can easily deflect projectiles when used at a novice level, but can furthermore be used to generate winds powerful enough to carve trails destruction through the earth when utilized with enough skill. As this technique is composed of compressed wind it is only visible when utilized at the highest levels, appearing as a translucent orb of chakra. Due to this trait, the practitioner's performance of this skills may be difficult for onlookers to identify.

Description: A technique that transforms the earth surrounding the user into a fluid, allowing them to close in on the enemy with high speed by swimming underground. By using this technique in conjunction with a weapon, it also gains great effect as an "assault ninjutsu".
