PostSubject: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 23, 2015 10:26 pm

Jayr was, all in all, a pretty out-going person. She was people friendly, and very social, a natural born leader. However, even people such as herself needed a break from the rest of the village from time to time: especially when said villagers treated her a little bit differently as soon as they realized who she was, or rather who she was related to. It didn't bother her normally, in fact she often shrugged it off, but today she had already been feeling particularly agitated. So, the best laid plan? Avoid anything that would piss her off further and make her lash out in a fit of rage. Those just... well, they weren't pretty.

This was, all in all, part of the reason why that when she had asked her father and sister to join her for lunch today she had picked a far less crowded establishment: she didn't know if they would actually have time to get away, but since she had no plans for the day she figured it would be a nice family thing to do. The cafe in question served delicious drinks and even more delicious food, it was just located in such a spot that it was often over looked – the entrance being slightly down an alley way of all people.

Jayr had arrived fifteen minutes till noon, figuring she should arrive early in case her father was able to get away earlier than possible, and walked into the charming little cafe quietly, hearing the small bell that hung above the door chime softly to announce her arrival. The cafe was seat yourself as the sign near the door indicated and so she moved off to a corner table, away from the windows and anyone who might be a bit nosy.

The waitress walked over relatively quickly with a pad and pen in hand. “Hello, miss. May I take your order?”, she asked politely.

Jayr plastered a fake but friendly looking smile on her face as she looked up towards the female. “I'd like just a cup of tea right now, please. I'm waiting on some other people, I'll order when they arrive.”, she said simply. The woman copied down her drink choice and hurried off behind the counter. Jayr turned her focus onto the front door of the cafe as she leaned back comfortably in her chair, waiting to see if either her father or sister would have been able to get away for lunch.

Quaint. A small establishment, one he'd been meaning to try himself for sometime now. It seemed his daughter had indeed read his mind. He'd been dying to get out of the office for some time now; it was a nuisance to have to sit for hours on end, listening to his advisors and colonels all day, every day. It was nice to get out, and spend time with family, even if it was only enough time for a cup of tea.

Quick steps moved the male through the streets, gold eyes looking about for the side street that was rumoured to house this cafe. When he found it, he turned down the street, offering smiles and small wave to the passerbies, some of whome recognised him, and made room for him to pass through; others stared curiously at him, as if they couldn't quite place his face. He didnt mind it, but just to be sure that there wouldn't be any issues concering an admiring fan coming up to get his attention, the male slipped a hand into the jacket he wore and produced a pair of sunglasses and slipped them on. It wasn't much, but it would help.

As he stepped into the cafe, Jai quietly looked about the room, hoping to Jayr quickly.

Ah, there in the back corner. Just like her...

He waved to her, then nodded and smiled at the hostess who greeted him with a warm "Hi, welcome to Chilly's." Making his way over to her. Sadly, it would take him a minute; once or twice he passed an off duty officer, who felt the urge to stand up and salute him. He spoke to them calmly, explaining that they were both off duty, and to save the saluting for when they were in the command center. Eventually, Jai finally reached the table. He grinned down at Jayr before taking a seat. "Heya, Jayjay. Been waiting long?" The grin remained, even as the waitress came back with Jayr's tea and peered down him, waiting patiently for his own order. "Matcha tea, hot please."

PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 23, 2015 11:15 pm

Jayr watched and heard as very shortly after she arrived the little bell above the door chimed once more and her father stepped inside. She gave a little wave as he spotted her and then watched as it took him a short moment to actually reach her due to the greetings he received. She couldn't help but grin a bit, her slightly bad mood vanishing for the most part: she couldn't imagine how her father handled that so politely, she personally would have been rather irked to be bothered when off duty.

She returned her father's grin, not minding the nickname: though had almost anyone else called her that she would have cleared the table and punched them – still, that was the thing about parents, they got away with things more than other people, and it honestly didn't bother her when he called her that.

“Not too long.” she said in response to her father's question. “Actually, it's a good thing I decided to come early or else you would have beat me here.” She glanced up as the waitress brought over her chai tea. “Thanks. I'll take one of those sandwiches you have on display over there, too, please.”, she added before the woman could walk away to get her father's tea. She brought her hot tea up to her mouth and sipped it slowly, a genuinely pleased smile coming upon her face. “I hope the place was easy enough to find; I kind of like it because it's not insanely busy like the other places; good for when I'm not feeling all that social.”

She took another sip of her tea as she watched out of the corner of her eye as the waitress brought her father's tea over and her sandwich. The sandwich on her plate was cut in half in the shape of a triangle and was nothing more than a basic BLT but that was perfectly fine with her because those happened to be one of her favorites. "Been busy today?", she asked before picking up her sandwich and taking a bite out of it, chewing quietly.

PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeFri Apr 24, 2015 3:13 am

"Been busy today?"

Jai could only shudder. Lifting the glasses up to nest them in his white hair, then rubbed his eyes. Taking a sip of his tea, he stared at his daughter for a moment, wondering if she was serious with her question. Of course he'd been busy; it was hell coordinating an entire nation, but she knew this well. There'd been many a night where he'd stumbled home, fell asleep in bed only to get up less than three hours later to begin his day again. It was a living nightmare.

"Hell."

It was at that moment, Jai paused, remembering something. A quick message from his daughter that he'd been asked to pass long. "Ah, that reminds me. Kadi will not be making it today. She has a field exam today. She asked me to pass the message along, and say that she's sorry for not being able to make it to lunch." Hr paused for a moment, allowing the words to sink in and sipped at the green tea before him. Setting the cup down, Jai watched his daughter carefully. He knew her very well, and could usually tell if something was bothering her. The smile she wore seemed a bit.. plastic.

Perhaps thats why she'd arranged this little get together? As he through of how to approach this subject, Jai straighted himself up, holding his head a bit higher. Fathermode.exe fully loaded.

"Something on your mind, Jayjay?"

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeFri Apr 24, 2015 10:47 am

Jayr nodded when her father mentioned her sister unable to attend: it was no big deal really, she would simply have to catch up with her twin later on and simply have tea some other time with her. Jayr was about to lift her sandwich to her mouth once more when her father's question caused her to pause: he knew her very well. Then again, she wasn't her normal bubbly self, bursting with happiness and energy: instead she had shoved herself off to a corner well away from the rest of the cafe and had plastered a fake smile worthy of those evil plastic Barbie dolls.

Her false smile slipped off of her face and was in turn replaced by a light frown which for anyone who knew her would indicate that something was indeed wrong. She held up a finger to indicate she was thinking about how to word whatever it was she needed to say and then took a bite of her sandwich: she always did like to collect her thoughts before saying something after all. She chewed slowly, a thoughtful expression on her face, and upon swallowing she placed her sandwich down again on her plate and leaned back in her chair.

Her lavender colored gaze rested on her father and she sighed softly before beginning, “When I was ten years old and that...” she paused, not one to normally swear, and let the pause say all of the vial things she wanted to call the man she was talking about without her actually having to add voice to them,” … man... cut off all of my hair because he thought I was being cheeky for having completed that assignment ahead of time I knew that when I went home in tears and saw how angry you were before you left that something bad was going to happen to him. I didn't ask what though I felt I could rightly guess, and I never wanted to know the details, in fact I pushed that man to the back most reaches of my mind and left him there to rot. Yet, earlier today I saw someone identical to that man. I'm not talking someone who looked like him: this guy I saw could have been either him – which, I doubt – or his identical twin. Same facial structure, eye color, the guy even had the same hair down to that annoying curly cue he always wore in the front plastered to his forehead.”, Jayr paused, glad that she still had the knack for remembering details even though years had paused since she had last seen the man she spoke of.

She shook her head, adding simply, “It.. brought up some bad memories is all.” Her frown deepened a bit more. “I had another black out... just like the one I had that day he did it. I didn't hurt anyone, I just lost track of time all together and was in a different place when I came to.”, the last few sentences were spoken softly, obviously she didn't want anyone else to overhear. But, it was all in all something she felt she needed to admit to her father: surely he out of everyone would understand what it was like to feel such rage that you lost all sense of yourself. Still, even though it shamed her slightly that she had lost control like that she didn't allow her gaze to waver from her father: she wasn't a coward, no matter how badly it made her feel that she had blacked out.

Jai frowned. He did indeed remember the incident; he'd made that instructor's life hell for a bit afterwards. While punishments were indeed allowed to be handed out, something like that was not called for -- especially the Commander General's daughter. He would have demoted the intstructor, but that would have been a bit too much -- especially since he was required to be rational about it, given his position. "No need to worry about him, dear. He's.. currently posted where he wont be a bother to anyone." Cold. He's sent the poor soul to the outpost on the border with Fubiki.

Jai remained quiet, sipping his tea slowly as Jayr continued to explain what happened -- another blackout? This wasn't good. "Do you think you.. need to see a specialist about this?" While he was all for assisting her at home, if this was something that they could not solve together, he had no qualms about getting her the help she required -- if she wanted. If she did not, he'd do his best by her, and he was positive Kadima would do the same.

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeSat Apr 25, 2015 10:15 am

Jayr nodded to her father's words: she had figured that that likely wasn't the same man, but he sure did have a twin out there who was roaming around Hana, even if that person wasn't related by blood. It was something that Jayr found to be a bit creepy really. Could they all have a look alike out there somewhere? And if so did that mean there were four people going around looking like herself, considering her twin and her looked alike minus their different eye and hair color? That was indeed a brain teaser, but she was getting off topic.

And this was why she was happy she had confided in her father: he handled it a lot better than someone else would have. Most people, when they heard someone suffered from blackouts, would end up backing up and leaving the area as soon as possible. But not her father. Nope, he was willing to help her. She sighed softly, picking at her sandwich on her plate, and feeling suddenly no longer hungry. The idea of seeing a specialist was probably the best, but the idea of confiding all of her deepest darkest secrets and desires and dreams to someone who she knew shit little about wasn't exactly appealing. It was one thing that her sister knew basically every little thought she had due to their sibling bond: she was family after all and her best friend to boot. But a perfect stranger? Still... if it would help.

“I thought about it. Maybe that would be for the best. I don't like the idea; telling everything about myself to someone I don't know anything about seems so... wrong. But, I can't risk losing my head again. At least if I could know what was wrong with me maybe I could find a way not to trigger it. Or, if the blackouts can't be helped at least find a way to control them when they do happen.” She looked up from her sandwich to her father, still frowning. “I'd like you or Kadi to come with me though... I'd think that if anyone could reach me while I'm like that it'd be one of you. The last thing I'd want is to be telling whoever about my past and the blackouts and suddenly end up in one and come to to.... well... something bad”, she couldn't say bloodbath, but that was pretty much what she was getting to. She also knew her father was a busy man, and hated laying another burden down on him, but this was something that scared her to death, which made her willing to ask: fear that showed clearly by the way she was white knuckling the table cloth as she picked at it to keep her mind distracted from its own thoughts. She did not want to risk killing an innocent, a civilian, and if she went into that rage state there was no telling what she would do to someone like that, especially if locked in a small room with them.

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeSat Apr 25, 2015 5:39 pm

Jai nodded to this. Jayr was right; if anyone was going to be able to reach her, it would have to be someone close to her, which meant either he or Kadima would have to be with her constantly. While he himself could not promised this for himself, he could pull a few strings and arrange to have Kadima placed into the same squad with Jayr, even going so far as to ensure they were on the same fireteam as well..

Tenting his fingers and leaning forward, Jai watched his daughter carefully for a moment. He was contemplating something, trying to figure out if it was worth being up. While he was concerned for hi daughter's wellbeing, he didnt want the doctor or such to begin prescribing her a ton of 'medication' just so he could cash in on the insurance money that was paid for by the military. He had no desire to pay for someone to sit on thier ass and prescribe his child pill after pill simply because 'the last one didnt work'. He also had no desire to see his daughter turned into a mindless zombie becuase the side effects of the medication.

"If you need help locating someone, I'm sure a few of the military docs would know of a reputable doctor that could help with your condition. I shouldnt take more than a day to find someone, and I'm sure they can work you into thier schedule ASAP, especially if it came as a request from the Commander General." He grinned some, and winked, attempting to lighten the mood. This was supposed to be a happy occasion, and while he was happy that Jayr felt comfortable with bringing this issue to him, he wanted to make her happy, take her mind off the problem. "Finish your sandwhich, Jayjay. Lets take a walk before people realize I'm not in my office."

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeSat Apr 25, 2015 7:06 pm

Jayr nodded: she knew that if her father was behind finding someone to help her that she'd get the best, which would be nice because then hopefully she would get answers faster rather then slow like it seemed to be with the lesser doctors. “Alright, thanks. I just wanna get this taken care of before it gets worse.” She picked up her sandwich again and did as her father instructed: not eating wasn't going to fix the issue after all, in fact for all she knew going hungry would make it worse.

She finished her sandwich, and once the food and drinks were paid for she left with her dad to take a walk. She was feeling better already just with the prospect on the horizon of her being able to find some answers and find them quickly... she was sure her father would be able to help her with this issue, or at least find someone who could.

---- Next Day ----

Jayr was... nervous. Now, there weren't a lot of things that could cause that kind of reaction. Training? Nope. Exams? Nuh uh. Having to take charge during leader exercises even when grades counted on how well you preformed? Nada. But coming to see a shrink? Roger that. She was practically sweating bullets: her palms were sweaty, her hairline – which thankfully was hidden due to how thick and long her hair was along with her bangs – was likewise sweaty too. The worst part? She was still standing in front of the doctors receptionist, finishing the check in procedure, she wasn't even in the doctors office yet.

Jayr threw a weary glance behind her, hoping to see her father coming through the door: she knew he would be here, even if he had to pull a colossal escape act to make it happen. She handed the clip board with all of her information over to the receptionist and took her seat. She sat with both feet on the floor at first and then crossed one leg over the other. When that wasn't comfortable enough she re-crossed her legs the opposite way. Jayr kept fidgeting until she heard footsteps and looked up to see the doctor – a guy with graying close cut hair, wrinkles, glasses, and wearing a suit with a white coat over top of it that had a shiny name tag on the pocket that read “Dr. Yung” – in the doorway of the waiting room. “Jayr Kyamalie, please.”

Jayr glanced around, hoping perhaps that someone else in the room with her happened to share her name. Finding no one else responding to the name she sighed and upon giving up all hope that this would go smoothly she got to her feet and followed after the doctor and into his room without word. She could have been someone being walked to their execution for how grave and serious she looked: a complete and total polar opposite to how she would look outside of this place.

The doctor stepped out of the way and held the door open for Jayr, and her father were he to be there, before closing it after them and indicating the chairs for them to sit. Jayr took her seat, clasped her sweat covered hands together in front of her, and concentrated very hard on not fidgeting: especially when the doctor took his seat on the other side of the desk and stared unblinkingly at her as if there were no one else in the room at all.

“Hello, Jayr. It's nice to meet you. I'm Doctor Yung. I've heard you have an issue we need to figure out.”, Doctor Yung said upon not hearing Jayr utter a single word.

Jayr sighed, opened her mouth to speak, and had to try several times before the words would come out, “I keep having blackouts. You know... from anger.”

“I see. How does that make you feel Jayr?”

“....” Was he fucking kidding her? How did that make her feel? Oh, fine and dandy you know, just fine as can be, I just decided to waste your time, my time, and most importantly my father's time to come here and have a chat. Not. “Worried.”, she said, keeping her mental mumblings to herself, though she was sure that her sister – no matter where she might be – would likely hear them and get a kick out of it.

“When did these black outs start?”

“When I was about ten years old.”, Jayr said simply.

“Go on. What happened when it happened? What was going on around that time?”

Jayr squirmed: she didn't like talking like this! “My mom had died recently. I was in class and the instructor was giving a lesson I had already gone over so I was doodling on my notebook instead of taking notes. He saw it, thought I was being disrespectful and cut off all of my hair was punishment.”

“I see. How did that make you feel? When he cut off your hair?”

“Pissed beyond belief.”, which was roughly how she was beginning to feel now. She didn't like talking about it. She wasn't a vain person so to speak but you just didn't touch her hair, that was just the rule, even if she had no real explanation about it.

“I see. What happened when you had this black out? What do you remember?”

“Nothing doc, nothing at all. All I know is that one minute I was sitting at my desk with this guy holding my ponytail and listening to the sound of the scissors going through it while feeling my hair hit my shoulders and the next? Well.. I was on top of the cut with my fist slamming into his face and his blood on my knuckles. I remember nothing in between that.”

“And how did that make you feel?”

PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeSun Apr 26, 2015 4:14 pm

It was simple for him to get away this time; he'd told his secretary that he had some paperwork to fill out, and that he did not want to be disturbed. After closing and locking the door, the Commander General simply opened the window and jumped out, using the nearby rooftops to make his grand escape. He knew his secretary well enough -- that woman was a hardworker, and would hold back an invading army on her own if it kept his office from being entered if Jai stated that he didnt wish to be disturbed.

Gods, that woman needed a raise. He'd speak to payroll about it when he got back.

It didnt take him long to reach the doctor's office; the man was well known for being good at what he did, even if he was also known for being a bit ecentric. He was indeed there, slipping into the door just as Jayr's name was called. He kept quiet, offering the child a small nod of reassurance as she got up and followed after the doctor. After a quick nod and hand shake with the doctor, the elder settled himself in a nearby chair and watched quietly.

Jai took note of how he asked simple questions, all the while watching Jayr's expression change rapidly. It seemed normal to Jai, but he noticed something -- why did he keep asking 'How did that make you feel'? Was this some technique or tactic? To him, it was slightly annoying, and he wasnt even the one being questioned. Judging by Jayr's expression, and the way she twitched... she wasnt liking this much either...

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeSun Apr 26, 2015 5:37 pm

The doctor knew what he was doing but Jayr certainly didn't. All of these questions were beginning to really get under her skin: evident by the way her hands were suddenly clenched into fists. She could feel a black out coming on, more so than she ever had before. In fact, it was almost weird – like a sort of tunnel vision of sorts, only the tunnel was growing smaller and smaller with each passing question. Jayr clenched her fists tighter, allowing her fingernails to dig into the palms of her hands in hopes that the pain would keep her focused and keep her from snapping on the poor old doc. “Is that your favorite question, doc?”

“How does it make you feel, Jayr? My question, I mean...”

The tunnel closed. Blackness overwhelmed Jayr and her rage took over. Just as her control snapped and she went to leap out of the chair and likely strangle the doctor the doctor pressed a button on his desk and a strap came across Jayr's chest, waist, and legs from the chair she had been seated on. She couldn't move, despite every effort she was making to get at the doctor and likely rip him to pieces. Around her body came a fire like substance though it gave off no heat at all: it was likely a side effect of this berserker rage the doctor had caused her to snap into.

The doctor turned his attention calmly to Jai, despite having a young female throwing a hurl of insults his way in every language she knew: something Jayr would have never done had she been her usual self. “Sir, if you don't mind please try and talk your daughter back calm. If this is exactly what I think it is then you should be able to talk her down and back into control of herself. When she has returned to her old self I'll explain what is happening.”

The doctor placed his elbows on his desk, fingertips together as he leaned forward and watched Jayr almost excitedly: waiting to see if she would indeed be able to be talked down. Meanwhile, Jayr continued to struggle against the straps that binded her, paying no attention at all to Jai at the moment – she was deadly focused on the doctor, the sort of focus that most could only achieve after years upon years of experience.

PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeMon Apr 27, 2015 3:23 am

Arms crossed over his chest, calmly watching over the scene. He had no clue what this doctor was doing, and he was beginning to doubt the usefulness of his technique. Given the way Jayr was reacting, she was clearly becoming angry with this doctor's questions.

“How does it make you feel, Jayr? My question, I mean...”

Oh shit.

He could see it happening before it did; Jayr twitched, her face a twisted version of itself, filled with anger. As her body moved to get up, the doctor pressed a button on his desk and a strap came across Jayr's chest, waist, and legs from the chair she had been seated in. While Jai could commend the doctor for being prepared, this was his child he was strapping down. Anger blazed into the elder's face, fists clenching so hard that his knuckles popped as he moved across the room. His fist was drawn back, already in motion as the doctor spoke.

"Sir, if you don't mind please try and talk your daughter back calm. If this is exactly what I think it is then you should be able to talk her down and back into control of herself. When she has returned to her old self I'll explain what is happening.”

Jai paused mid-swing, eyes sliding from the doctor -- who was realising just how close he came to unexpected dental surgery -- to his daughter. Lowering his hand, he stepped over to the struggling Jayr, head tipping to the side. "You better be right, Doc. Elsewise, its gonna be you and me."

Kneeling on the floor, Jai placed himself between Jayr and the doctor, snapping his fingers in her face in an attempt to get the girl's attention. "Jayjay, listen to me. Come back to me, Jayjay. Don't focus on the doc, focus on me. Listen to me. Let my voice bring you out the dark."

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeMon Apr 27, 2015 11:53 am

The doctor nodded calmly to Jai's words: he had no intention of having his teeth knocked out of his skull and while his methods seemed a bit out-there he indeed had had this planned all along. That was the nature of this beast: you had to see it to ensure it really was there. And by the God's it was there, right in front of his face, struggling against the bonds that held her. There was no doubt in his mind that if Jayr got out of those restraints before she calmed down that he would be dead within minutes, it was all in the way she was looking at him along with the insults hurled in multiple different languages. So, the doctor just kept watching eagerly, waiting to see what would happen.

Jayr meanwhile continued to struggle against her bonds, that was at least until Jai positioned himself in front of her. Her body and mind instantly began to reject any course of action that would cause him any sort of harm. She stopped struggling instantly and slowly turned her now red colored eyes onto her father. She stared at him, face still screwed up in rage, for several seconds while she remained deadly still: almost like an attack dog ready to pounce at his first command – in this moment if he told her to kill the doctor she gladly would, and anyone else he wanted dead too.

Then she blinked, once and then twice, before her entire body relaxed and her facial features returned to normal: her father's words registering enough and her body and mind letting loose the rage and urge to kill it once held. Her eyes faded from red back to their normal lavender color and the firey display around her that continued to give off no heat likewise disappeared. After several seconds she looked away from her father and down to herself: she saw the straps which was the reasoning behind the slight pain she was feeling and knew she likely would have bruises or at least red marks from them for a while. “Wha...?”, was all she could ask as she looked back up to her father, confused. She didn't remember anything that had happened after she snapped out like she had, though she could faintly remember her father's voice and him bringing her back out of the darkness that had swallowed her.

Once the doctor was satisfied that Jayr was back he pressed the same button he had again and the straps slowly and carefully retreated, leaving Jayr no longer restrained. “I apologize for that, but I had to be sure before I made my diagnosis.”, the doctor explained before he leaned back. He would wait until both were paying full attention to him again before he would continue on. “It has become apparent to me that you suffer from Berserker – Blind Rage Syndrome. It hasn't been seen in such clarity in several hundred years. It is a dissociative disorder in which something, some sort of trigger, sends the person spiraling out of control. Those who enter into this Berserker state normally find themselves unable to respond to most pain stimuli. Even most Genjutsu are rendered ineffective against those in this state of mind. From the way you were acting and the way you nearly broke through the straps I would find it save to assume that this rage also makes you more faster and stronger: though it would likely drain your chakra at the same time. You should know though that as you come out of this state you'll be more susceptible to being injured and to Genjutsu for a bit.

Jayr listened carefully to the doctor, all of her attention once more focused on him as she rubbed her arms where the straps had held her. This diagnosis sounded... well, deadly. But, at least she knew what she was dealing with. She listened as the doctor explained that while she was in that state she likely wouldn't feel much pain from injuries inflicted, nor would most Genjutsu work on her – at least there was a plus side to this, right? He also said that from what he had noticed her speed and strength had increased as well – given the way her arms and legs hurt? She would have to agree. “What can I do to stop this from happening, doc? Or at least is there a way I can control it?”

The doctor nodded with a thoughtful expression. “Well, there are a few methods we could try. The most easy method of course would be to put you on medication. I don't personally recommend this because it will drastically alter your normal personality. The medicine would have to be strong enough to trump your Berserker rage and for it to do that it would essentially turn you into a mindless zombie the rest of the time. However, if the medication is what you want then I will give it to you, the choice is yours. There is also another method though: learning what your triggers are and avoiding them. You said you first blacked out when your hair was cut, obviously that is a trigger. My questions kept annoying you and triggered another. Physical exhaustion normally works too: if you start feeling even a slight bit angry then go work out until your tired, or run until you can't anymore. Sparring works too. But, Jayr... if I may be so bold, this diagnosis isn't exactly a bad thing. It is clear from your actions that you are unable to hurt those you care about. When your father got in front of you, before he even spoke to you, your body instantly stopped moving as if it rejected any idea of causing him harm – and moments before that you were doing everything you could to get free and kill me, I could see it in your eyes. You also were able to be brought back out of it instantly by him. With that said you could use this in a battle situation: learn how to place yourself into this state. If you go into it more willingly instead of trying to fight it then you likely will be able to control yourself more. You'd be far more dangerous against an opponent and far less susceptible to harm. Plus, even in this rage you would know exactly how to fight: that's what makes those who have had this diagnosis in the past so feared – they're like a one man wrecking ball.”

Jayr slowly turned her focus back onto her father, her mind churning over the new information while she attempted to figure out what she wanted to do about this: she did not want to take medication. She would be useless on it, she knew it. “I didn't try and hurt you at all?”, she asked her father. His response would determine how she went about handling this...

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeTue Apr 28, 2015 5:28 am

As it became apparent to Jai this his daughter's mind was focusing again, that she was coming back into her right mind and no longer wish to kill the doctor because of his annoying question, Jai stepped backward, allowing his daughter some breathing room. His arms recrossed over his chest, the dislike for this doctor's methods obvious upon his face. He was about to speak when the doctor began himself.

“I apologize for that, but I had to be sure before I made my diagnosis."

Better hurry doc. My patience is running thin.

"It has become apparent to me that you suffer from Berserker – Blind Rage Syndrome. It hasn't been seen in such clarity in several hundred years. ...a what? His daughter... was a berserker? He'd heard stories about berserkers. but he'd thought there were just that -- stories. He didnt think that something like this was even actually possible, let alone being a 'medical condition', one that his own daughter would end up developing. The frown vanished from his face, the commander general actually took a step closer to the doctor, wanting to hear more about this condition and what could be done to combat it.

That explained a lot. It seemed that close family members would be able to 'keep Jayr on a leash', so to speak. Jai made a mental note to push through those rearrangements when he returned to his office -- the ones that would have Kadima transfered to Jayr's squad. He'd even personally speak to the officer in charge to ensure that they were even on the same fireteam -- he trusted Kadima to keep her sister safe and calm. Hell, Kadima was one of the calmest people he knew, even at her young age....

“I didn't try and hurt you at all?”

"Hmm?" His attention shifted, Jayr was speaking to him. Her face held a mixture of concern and fear, something he'd rarely, if ever, saw on her face. This moment was critical; she was looking to him for reassurance, guidance. In response, Jai smiled, knelt down beside her and kissed her forehead. "Nah, Jayjay. I'm fine. You didn't even twitch in my direction. Guess part of you realized that you didnt want to be grounded until you were 80." He chuckled, hoping that his (lame) attempt at humor would somehow help to ease her mind.

Standing up straight, he nodded to Jayr, the smile remaining on his face. "Its up to you, dear. What ever you want to do, I'll support you. I know Kadi will help out as best she can as well."

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeTue Apr 28, 2015 8:44 am

Jayr watched closely as her father focused his attention back on her – the doctor going silent, obviously aware of how important this little conversation was. She saw him smile before kissing her on the forehead and allowed herself to fully relax even before her father spoke. He said he was fine, that she didn't even twitch in his direction: at his words about her likely not wanting grounded until she was eighty she cracked a small smile: the fear vanishing off of her face as quickly as it had showed up. While the doctor might lie to her to gain some sort of odd reaction or outcome that he wanted she knew that her father wouldn't lie to her: especially about something this important. So, she hadn't tried to harm him at all which meant – especially given the mental bond she had with her sister – meant that she wouldn't try and hurt her either. Good, she could deal with that.

Jayr focused her attention back onto the doctor, her mind made up on her course of action. “No medication, doc. I have to be focused and quick on my feet to do my job properly, and those meds make it sound like I'll be anything but that.” It was a wise analysis after all considering he had admitted they'd make her nothing more than a walking zombie: that was best to be avoided, at least if other methods could work. “I think I'll work on figuring out what my triggers are and avoiding them. If I can't then at least I have a few people around who can snap me out of it without the risk of me hurting them.”

She toyed with the idea for a moment of using this berserker state as a possible 'weapon' if needed, but she wasn't about to give that sort of information to the doctor. He might have taken an oath and medical laws might swear him to silence but loose lips sunk ships in the past: besides, it wasn't something that was his business. His job was, for all intent and purposes, finished in her opinion. She knew now what was wrong with her, and with both the information the doctor had given her plus what she could find in a library if she looked she was set to handle this on her own – or rather, with her family's help.

“Alright then. I think we're done here for today, Jayr. I would like to see you in a month's time to check your progress. If you're handling this well and the coping mechanisms are working then we won't need to see each other again. If you require a visit to my office before next month I always have slots in my schedule set aside for emergency visits.” The doctor slid a card of his across the desk. “My emergency number is on there too in case you need my help outside of business hours.” The doctor then stood up.

Taking the cue from the doctor Jayr stood too, shaking the man's out stretched hand quickly. “Thanks doc. Gotta say, for a psycho-cologist visit that went better than I expected.”, Jayr said, cracking a playful grin and totally back to her usual self. The doctor simply chuckled, unaffected by the joke, and likely thinking he deserved it after making her snap like that.

She then turned and walked over to the door, opening it herself, before walking out: leaving it open as she figured her father would follow after her. She wanted to tell him her decision after all on the other part of what the doctor had brought up – just well away from listening ears. She crossed through the reception area – she'd make her appointment later on – and walked out of the office door.

When the air outside and the sunlight hit her she took a deep and calming breath while waiting for her father.

Jai couldn't help but smile wider at Jayr's words; knowing his daughter, he expected her to say just that. And knowing his daughter, she had to be looking for a way to turn this 'weakness' into an advantage -- was she thinking of becoming like the bersekers of old? Only time would tell...

As Jayr's turned to leave, Jai stepped out behind her, shoving his hands into his pockets to fish for something as he moved. Producing a lighter, the male reaching into a jacket pocket and pulled out a cigarette. Cupping his hands around the flame as he flicked the lighter, Jai took a quick pull from the smoke before turning to face his daughter.

"So, what now, Jayjay? What are you planning?" His voice was quiet, expectant. He motioned off in the direction of his office, before taking a running start that would allow him to leap atop a mail dropbox, then to a street lamp before he hit a nearby roof top. He figured it was quieter up there; Jayr's expression read that she had something on her mind, something she wanted to say. Why not hit a quiet place so they could talk?

Once he hit the rooftop, he began a slow walk in the direction of his office, savoring the next pull off his cig. He knew Jayr would be able to keep up; he'd trained her Kadima himself on the best ways to climb a structure in an urban enviroment when they were much younger.

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeTue Apr 28, 2015 10:27 pm

Jayr looked up and down the street while listening to her father light a cigarette. At his question she turned to look towards him with a thoughtful expression on her face. She watched him motion off in the direction of his office before he took off running to then leap on a mail drop box, then to a steel lamp, before finally reaching a roof top. Grinning slightly – free running was after all a favorite hobby of hers – she followed after him. Not only would this be fun but it would be a way to talk without worry of being eavesdropped upon.

She could have taken the same method up as her father, but she preferred to do things her own way – or at least with her own little twist to them. So instead she headed straight to the wall of the building of the roof he was on. As she reached it she pressed her foot on the building itself, allowing her to scramble up and grab a nearby ledge of an upper story window. She hoisted herself up, climbed up the last remaining few feet, and was up on the roof top with her father with little effort and with little time wasted.

She caught up with her father and walked beside him, hands cupped together behind her back for the moment. “I was kind of thinking over what that doctor said; about the plus side of that rage. About how while I'm in it my body won't register most physical pain, and how most Genjutsu won't work on me. It sounds like something I could use to my benefit. I was thinking about discovering these triggers the doc spoke about; only not just to make it so that I can avoid going into that rage, but to also be able to put myself into it if I need to. He said I'd be a bit faster and stronger; that could always come in handy, maybe even tip a fight in my favor if needed.”

“I didn't want to say anything in front of the doctor though: I don't trust him. He seems... off to me.” It was the best way she could describe how that doctor had made her feel. She knew he had a method behind the madness he had shown by putting her into that berserker state, but it still bothered her. What would have happened had her father not been able to snap her out of that state? How long would she have been trapped in it? No, she didn't like that doctor at all. Wanting to be honest with her father she sighed and added softly, “I don't really have any intention of going back next month to see him...” Of course, she would go if her father told her too, but if left completely up to her she had absolutely no intentions of doing so: she felt she had all of the support from her family and didn't need to rely on anyone else.

“I know you and Kadi will help me if needed... and I don't really care for that doctor's tricks. I dunno, I guess I feel like he could have gone about that a little bit better.”

Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeWed Apr 29, 2015 7:17 pm

Jayr caught up to him easily, as expected. He moved on quietly, knowing she would follow as he took another puff of his cigarette. He remained quiet for the most part, listening carefully as Jayr began to speak.

Jai didnt respond right away. Instead, he smoked at the last bit of the cig, mulling over what Jayr and the doctor said. While it was indeed a powerful ability, there was also a darkside that Jai noticed that the doctor failed to mention; even though Jayr wouldnt feel the damage done to her, pain was indeed still needed thing. Jayr could get get hurt in a way that her moving around and attacking would only aggravate the wounds to the point of causing her death. If she had no 'rational' mind to stop her from attacking, or no pain to help her realize what she was doing was making her wounds worse, she might end up fighting herself into a grave.

“I didn't want to say anything in front of the doctor though: I don't trust him. He seems... off to me. “I don't really have any intention of going back next month to see him... I know you and Kadi will help me if needed... and I don't really care for that doctor's tricks. I dunno, I guess I feel like he could have gone about that a little bit better.”

Blowing the last bit of smoke from his lungs, Jai still didnt speak just yet. He felt the same way about the session that Jayr did; the doctor could have done something differently; at the very least warned them of what he was going to do or something. Which was odd, as most doctors were very upfront and transparent with what they were doing. Pushing the thoughts from his head, he glanced over at Jayr, offering a calming smile. "Don't worry Jayjay. We got what we went for, and now we have an idea of what we're dealing with here." He nodded some, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Why don't you take the rest of the day off, Jayr? I'll send for Kadi so you two can spend some time together. You know, sisterly bonding and whatnot."

PostSubject: Re: Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite]   Tea time? Lunch times~ [Jai or Invite] I_icon_minitimeFri May 01, 2015 1:42 pm

A smile crossed Jayr's face: she was glad to hear that her father didn't mind her not going back. They had gotten what they had gone for: they knew what was wrong with her, and enough information on it to research it further on their own if needed. Jayr was personally happy to know that there was no way at all she could harm either her sister or her father while in that rage mode of hers. Of course, everyone else was still fair game, but she would respond to her father and sister's orders while in that mode, so she would be able to be stopped.

At her father's next words, about taking the day off and spending some time with her sister a thoughtful expression crossed her face and her smile grew. “That could be fun. Maybe I'll get a chance to drag Kadi to that nice little cafe we went to the other day.” Her mind ran with other ideas her and her sister could do to pass the day away.

Before she turned to leave she reached over and hugged her father, smiling and back to her bubbly and happy self once more. “I'm going to head over the library for a quick five minutes and then probably head over to that cafe. Kadi will be able to find me easy enough.” Which was of course true: all her sister had to do was listen to her thoughts and she would be able to know exactly where Jayr was and what she was doing – something that the girls had been able to do since they were extremely young.

When she finished giving her father a hug she would pause to see if he had anything else to say before she would wave and take off in the direction of the library: using the rooftops instead of heading back to the ground.
