General Description:

| Physical Appearance |

The toughness, strength, and translucence of warm bronze caresses her satin-like skin, sharing the exact resemblance to the translucent surface of shell that holds levels of glassiness, brittleness, and resonance. Lips that are sculpted to be plump always remain a nude hue, holding the soft touch of glaze like that of clay in a heated kiln. Upon her top lip remains a thin scar that slits into the right edge of her upper lip, but little does it damage her appearance as a whole. A straight nose is associated with the kunoichi's face, giving a lineal profile that is commonly associated with narrow nostrils and a pointed tip. Cheeks that are much defined—commonly known as 'high cheekbones'—play smoothly along her doll-like face, adding more cultivation to her prim features. The color of warm topaz scrapes the irises of her almond-shaped eyes, spiraling pigments of radiant ambers outlining her ebony pupils. A decently thin, yet averaged curvy woman she was, she weighs in at one-hundred and twenty-five pounds, slender and defined. Her body ligaments are long and thin—but proportional—with a lean torso that sang with an hour glass shape. Little does her body figure do any justice to her flawless mask. Her soft features feather the brooding personality she wields, revealing benevolence and care instead of enmity and heart-ache. The young kunoichi's hair falls straight in locks of pale, sandy-blonde strands, her bangs loosely clipped to the right side of her face by a single black barrette.
| Daily Attire |

The eighteen year old wears the attire that is fit for comfort, flexibility, and security. The attire is revealed in respect as to giving her freedom of movement, due to her affinity with hand-to-hand combat. Anemone wears a plain, short onyx turtle neck dress that hugs her body tightly, always having the sleeves pushed up just before her elbows. The material is ninety-two percent polyamide, the other eight percent being elastane; the constructive material of the dress allows access to running and jumping without any source of restraint. She then wears the flak jacket that she obtained as a Chunin, having it always zipped up to the very top. This flak jacket is always worn by the young kunoichi, due to being proud with the position she holds now. Confiscating her feet are a pair of black kunoichi heels, followed by long straps that go up to her knees.
About You!

Personality:

| Self-Preservation |

"I will always look out for myself. If you're smart, you'll do the same."

Having to provide for herself growing up and knowing nothing but absolute independence, Anemone was sculpted to be an incredibly skilled manipulator who will use any means necessary to achieve any goals she has in mind. Especially when it comes to her own life. The main personality attributes that belong to this young kunoichi are strong survival instincts and sense of self-sufficiency. Although it may seem like she's selfish in many ways, such as wielding no respect for any's life but her own—and tending to not spare a life during missions unless it suits her interests to do so—she has no true intentions of being such a thing; it's just unfortunately all that she knows. With that being said, the young miss owns a silver and sharp tongue, and is utterly clever when it comes to twisting others' words and possible actions, always managing to sound so convincing with a composed tone of voice and no sliver of hesitance. Her cleverness is usually her escape route to getting out of tough situations or even death, as well as her dark charm, though it can sometimes cause a riot to those it falls upon. She's quick-witted and adroit, managing to manipulate any being before her if needed.
| Hidden Book Worm |

"I'm sure stabbing a book would be equivalent to stabbing her in the heart. She bleeds knowledge, sir."."

As stated above, Anemone is quite intelligent. In her younger days, she was not the type to do her studies just to be an over-achiever back in the Academy. She did it simply to soak up as much knowledge as she could, and because it helped her cooperate with the hardships back home. She dealt with these conflicts by taking herself to any nearby library and reading until she could read no more. It gave her some sort of high, and it eased any lingering pain. So, reading allowed her to escape so many frustrations, and it wasn't just the simple ability of reading that she loved, but also the information she gained along the way. The passion to learn as much as she could later took effect when she entered the Academy. When it came to her studies, she naturally indulged herself into them, fascinated by all the subjects and matters that come with the shinobi way and the stringing histories that came with it. Her liking towards education has led her to be a very sapient woman; not just book smart, but street smart, too. Due to the passion to learn, her brilliancy was revealed by her exceptionally high marks on past exams.
| The Witty Sex Kitten |

Oh. You're one of those woe-is-me types. Gross. You're lucky you're cute.”

No, not the type of "sex kitten" who is readily available for certain 'pleasures', but the type who exhibits an innocent flirtatious behavior and playfulness. The eighteen year old finds much amusement in teasing both sexes, male and female, and is rather witty, always having some witty remark under her breath to share. Out of combat, it is not often that she is serious due to this persona, finding it rather vexatious when someone is shy and awfully reserved. Whenever she encounters a human being who is morbid and quiet, she'll display her playful disgust towards the boring type, sometimes even poking fun at them.
History:

Galump. Galump. Galump. A rhythmic sputter of fluttering, new heart beats pounded within a newborn's frail chest in the midst of autumn, frightened but alive and well. The infant breathed in quick, startled pants as she had been overwhelmed by the gift of life; the hot beats nearly pattered as fast as a humming bird flapped its wings, so flabbergasted by such a new surrounding. Akashiya Shinsaku, the single and young adolescent who gave birth to the weak suckling, focused her wary chocolate eyes on the new being; and suddenly, everything was absolutely clear... A smile broke the hardened shell that expressed agony upon her porcelain face, a weak laugh brushing off her brittle lips. The little, beautifully rounded head was covered in a thick layer of matted, blonde hair. Underneath the warm sheet of blood and protective vernix, her skin looked like a warm, beautiful caramel hue, similar to the irresponsible man who took part in the infant’s creation. Akashiya's eyes glanced at her baby's, the smile on her lips suddenly disappearing as she soaked in the image of her daughter's irises. Smoldering butterscotch caressed the orbitals, hints of topaz flickering wildly around her black pupils. Just like her father's. The newborn's oculi of topaz were now focused on her, the infant's expression so shocked it was pathetically amusing. No words lingered on her tongue; the only audible noise she made were quiet winces.
“Ah-nem-own-ay. Anemone Shinsaku. Watashi no saiai no ai.
Anemone. Anemone Shinsaku. My dearest love."

Akashiya Shinsaku was a young miss who was born into the Shinsaku family, being the only daughter of Kirisami and Hai Shinsaku. For generations, the Shinsakus were known for their odd chance of only birthing boys, so Akashiya's birth was quite the bewilderment. She was the youngest out of five children, her older brothers ranging from the ages of six to fifteen. Her father, Hai, valued strength and masculinity above all else, therefore mistreating his daughter due of her femininity. As a female, she was revoked from learning the ways of a shinobi. To deal with the lack of verbal and physical affection from her father, the young lady would discreetly fool around, finding comfort in any erotic act between herself and a man. However, around the young age of seventeen, this form of comfort had ruined the young beaut, for she had fallen in love with a Jounin-ranked shinobi. He was vague, and it was not often that his presence would surface the village due to partaking in missions. But when he was present, the strange love was hushed and kept on a low profile, for she did not want to expose him of their wrong doing.
But secrets can only be hidden for so long.
It was toward the end of winter that she had discovered that her lover had been killed, and was also carrying his child. Although she was seen as a burden by the Shinsakus, the young adolescent carried the child to term; but seconds after giving birth to a healthy daughter, Akashiya's father tore the child away from her. Hai had exclaimed that it would have been better for both she and the newborn to never see one another, and was immediately disowned by her own family for the shameful birth of an illegitimate daughter. Akashiya, who found unconditional love and warmth in her child, fought to keep her newborn. That child was all she wanted in life, for she herself felt like she had been reborn with a new purpose: to love and care for her newborn. But, it was a futile endeavor; days after giving birth, she was banished for her embarrassment of the Shinsaku family, having no control over her baby girl's unfortunate life ahead. "What if they find out, Kirisame? Our daughter's sin is far heavier than any other sinner within this damned world. I refuse to take in this damned mistake—" "Don't you ever refer to our granddaughter as a mistake! Our daughter may have done wrong. But she is our blood, it is not her fault that Akashiya did what she did. You cannot blame the innocent soul. We will care for her. Together we can do this, Hai. Just think about it, we can watch her gro—" “I will not have this child anywhere near this family. She is a disgrace. We will leave her with some other family, she doesn't belong with us." "Are you mad?” the flustered woman snarled, pulling away from her man now in disgust. “Hai!” she hissed, her hands clutching the child closer to her chest. “How can we trust leaving her with strangers? It'll be too dangerous! And when the day comes that she searches for her birth mother? What will we do then?!" she interjected with such poison. For a moment, Hai stared at the child, quietly at that before shaking his head in disagreement. "No, Kirisame. They will not be dangerous. She will not know of her burdensome mother nor her foolish father. She will not know of the Shinsaku Family at all. She will grow up knowing nothing."
| | |

Kirisame had the duty of delivering the child to any residence within Amagakure, a task that she found to be quite difficult. It was a long travel to this village, and over the course she pondered ways to keep the child and abort the task. Her heart was heavy with betrayal, not for herself but for the baby girl. She was a Shinsaku, nonetheless. She did not deserve such a fate, but she had no say in it. What Hai wanted done, was to be done with no questions asked. Days of traveling finally came to an end when she made it to the village hidden within the clouds. Having decided upon a home that looked stable, the woman left the child in its makeshift carrier, a note folded just beside the child. With that, Kirisame left her granddaughter behind in the hands of Nikita Mamoru, a young woman who would soon cause despair to swelter within that tiny, beating heart of Anemone Shinsaku's.

It was a late summer night when Rika Susume, the female Jounin who had been called to investigate a case, walked through the automatic sliding doors of a hospital, the cool air overwhelming the new body that emerged into the land of white and the ill-ridden. Strangers awaited anxiously in the waiting room, some hunched over in their chairs and sobbing like pitiful children...

Stepping into a room, a medic ninja greeted the Jounin quietly, exiting after a few moments later. There, sitting upon a hospital bed was a little, fragile girl. Her hair fell down her back in the shade of pale sand, and shined in the flourecent light above. Her skin was paper-thin looking, snow-white with a hint of gray. A sign of malnutrition. There were deep circles under her eyes, dark circles that jumped out and caused her face to appear all ragged. There was something about her fingers and wrists that caught Rika's breath, for they were so brittle that it was almost horrifying. The sight made Rika's stomach lurch. The eyes of this child peered up at the Jounin, sullen yet full of tenderness within the deep butterscotch hues that swirled within. Black stitching zig-zagged across the child's top lip, a horrid gash beneath the black lining. "Don't look at me. I'm ugly." A soft gasp escaped the Jounin's lips. The child's voice was raspy, sounding as if her esophagus had been crushed. And that's when Rika noticed the shadowed finger marks etched upon the child's neck. Down below, blotches of ink spotted her skin here and there, ranging from purples to grays. Bruises. "You're beautiful," Rika corrected, but the compliment fell under deaf ears as the child sulked in silence. Turning away, the mint-haired woman stepped out of the room and grasped onto the medic who waited outside.
"How old?"

"Six years."

"...What happened?"

"Abused and neglected. The woman who claimed the child was found and taken in."

"Do we know of her whereabouts? Birthday? What about her biological parents? How long has this been going on?"

"Nothing was found about the child's background. No last name. No relatives to contact. Nothing. All we know is that she's six."

No one claimed the child. Her presence wavered within the hospital for days, no claim within miles. For ten consecutive days, Rika would visit the girl, her endeavors to befriend the little one failing miserably. She wouldn't speak. It wasn't long until information about the quiet child surfaced thanks to an anonymous neighbor who tapped in answers. Abuse was common within the house hold. The stranger stated that for days, Nikita Mamoru would disappear. She was a geisha who constantly brought home clients on the nights she was around. It was her source of income. The unknown neighbor said they would have interfered with the situation, but it was disrespectful to tell another how to raise a household.

On the fifteenth day, documents were signed and the bruised peach was cleared to be released under the guardianship of Susume, Rika. It was all she could do, all that she wanted to do. It was a whole new responsibility, a tough one at that. But no child deserved such misfortune. It was silent within the Susume household. The child would sit in her room and read books that the kunoichi had stored within the closet. For two months, the child was mute. She would only read, and sometimes she'd even draw. It was hard to swallow for the then twenty-four year old Jounin; she had no experience. No guidance. No handbook on how to take care of a damaged soul. But, she was not discouraged. The Jounin could sense that the young girl had potential. Beneath those thick layers of sorrow thrived a strong and beautiful girl. Although it was not evident, the child's potential was grand. She had what it would take to become a fine kunoichi. And so Rika exposed the mute child to world of a shinobi. Anemone's age at the time—only being six years—hadn't mattered much to the mint-haired woman. She'd start her young. She'd be her prodigy. A beautiful creation brought up from pure ash. At first, getting the child to listen was frustrating. She'd ignore Rika and choose a book over her, or she'd lock herself in her room every time Rika tried to speak with her about training. She was too self-reserved, and for the longest time, Rika could not get the girl to open up. Rika never once got mad at Anemone for her behavior, because it was expected from her to act such a way; she was traumatized, broken from the previous events that led her to the life she lived now. In the end, it was no simple task, but after many exhausting attempts—bribing the child with either candy or new books—the little girl gradually began to blossom. She spoke more, smiled here and there, and laughed once or twice. The vibrancy of life was ever so slowly brewing within her as Rika delicately peeled away her morbid layers, the child finally acting...like a child.

Agreeing to train under the Jounin's wing, Anemone once more made it incredulously difficult for her. It was long, frustrating, and even painful sometimes. The child had obtained quite the personality over time, agitating Rika to no end; Anemone would claim that she knew everything due to the countless books she read, and was even incredibly stubborn. It was irritating, but Rika thoroughly enjoyed every second of it because Anemone was finally a seven year old girl who acted her age, not a seven year old girl who feared interaction. It grew evident over time that the stubbornness was not alright with Rika, because at one point she snapped and disciplined Anemone for giving her attitude. Perhaps it was what the child needed, because after doing so, the child was no longer stubborn. Instead, she devoted all of attention to Rika, always asking questions and following the older kunoichi just about everywhere like a lingering shadow. When the Jounin had educated Anemone just enough and felt she was ready, she enrolled her into the Academy once she turned eight. There, the blonde surpassed the expectations of the teachers with her skills, wielding great knowledge that a child her age normally would not. Whilst other children were in the process of learning a very simple jutsu every shinobi knows, the transformation skill, Anemone was being taught more advance techniques. The child took a liking towards the Academy—being praised for knowing things felt so...so exhilarating.

And so, the days turned to night, and the nights turned to day. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months. The months would turn to years... Over the long peaceful years, Anemone had grown to be an exceptionally well mannered and sapient young girl, and the the bond between she and Rika were inseparable. Rika viewed Anemone as her own, though this adoration was never returned; the young girl was far too skeptical when it came to trust.
.|Genin Arc|.

Anemone's genin years were very successful, having consisted of many ups and downs, injuries, memories, and laughters. Under Rika's request, Anemone had been assigned to her team. Alongside two boys—Kondo, a brunette who carried a happy-go-lucky demeanor to him and Hijikata, a black haired boy who's stupidity could kill them all—Anemone was able to gain a strong and playful bond with the dysfunctional team. Rarely did the adolescents bicker, however when they did, it was always between Anemone and Hijikata about his rash recklessness. She did not take things lightly when her life was on the line, and due to Hijikata's childish stupidity...it was on the line quite a bit. He never put thought into things, and so he was very rash in combat. Despite this, Anemone had taken a liking in the two and enjoyed their presence, but that did not eat away at her independence. She liked the two, yes, but she didn't care much for their well being as much as she did her own. Her self-preservation was far too strong, having always put herself first. This concerned Rika; as a team, they were meant to care for one another no matter what. Loyalty was meant to be valued. But Anemone hadn't cared much to be loyal to the boys; this led to constant arguments between she and Rika.
.|Chūnin Arc |.

Stage two of the Chūnin Exams was exasperating. They had been three days into the proctored exam. They were famished. Dehydrated. Depleted due to the lack of carbohydrates and nutrients that the body needed in order to function. The team faced a myriad of difficult obstacles, and at some point their fellow teammate, Kondo, had been separated from them. On countless occasions, Hijikate fell victim to the scorching heat and the horrifying ticks of insanity that the mind would feed on. He was becoming a bother to Anemone, who was slowly losing her sanity as Hijikate kept her from moving forth. He was no use to her. He was horrifyingly futile, always getting their team in the past into horrid situations due to his audacious actions. He was brash, and never put thought into a single task. Her life had been put on the line on multiple occasions due to his foolishness. That was not acceptable. She came first. First and above all. And if he were to be the reason why her heart stopped beating...she'd go to hell ashamed of herself. On the night of the fourth day, a gruesome decision had spawned within her mind.

It wasn't difficult. No guilt harbored within her heart, no fear of any consequences if caught executing her own teammate was a concern; taking the life of a human being—if it meant protecting herself—stirred no fear or remorse within her. It was all for the need to survive. Perhaps that is why she was able to make it throughout the second stage: her sense of self-preservation was strong. She had done it quickly. It was painless. No one would be able to tell who had done it, for any shinobi could have taken his life with the way he had gone. No blood tainted her hands, no scream escaped his lips, nor did any pain eat away at his body; Anemone disposed of him rather quickly by breaking his neck, allowing her to protect the scroll alone. She would then lie to Kondo, crying about how the heroic boy risked his feeble life to save her own. They would then pass, and together move up the ranks as Chūnins. It was not a bad plan. As dawn stirred from the previous night's slumber, Anemone found herself standing at the center on the fourth day, awaiting the arrival of her second teammate, Kondo, who she and Hijikate had split up from earlier the day before. She was the only one there, alongside a team of three who managed to keep the second scroll. She waited. And waited.
But Kondo never arrived.

The promotion to Chūnin was a gift that Anemone, along with other shinobi that participated within the same exams, acquired with ease, being highly praised by her sensei and higher authorities within her village. It was a proud moment for her, quite the honor too. Albeit, the satisfaction that came with the obtainment was short-lived. For some time she struggled to grasp it, as if she hadn't deserved the rank. Guilt from the murder of Hijikata? From lying? From losing Kondo? Maybe. Maybe not. It was not like her to act so distant and constantly perturbed. This had been sensed by Rika, who was genuinely concerned for Anemone's emotional stability; the tragic loss of two fellow teammates would destraught any human being. Or so one would think. Anemone had always stood out from the bunch to her mentor; a close eye had been monitoring the young kunoichi for years due to raising her on her own. No matter how many times the blonde reassured her sensei that she was truly fine, Rika refused and ignored the poor endeavors to comfort her concern. She refused to see Anemone succumb to depression. Over the course of four years, the odd behavior simmered, but it still remained. Now eighteen, she had found ways to subdue the strange feelings, but Rika was no foolish woman; she needed a distraction. Missions weren't doing any justice. Anemone needed something that would keep her on her best behavior, something that would require her to be busy at all times... Since Amagakure was still without a Joutenkage, Rika voiced her unsettling thought to the fellow Jounins. She wanted her beloved student to keep busy, to be occupied at all times and put to good use. She as well as the other Jounins took great time considering Anemone, for they were, at the time, the only individuals who were allowed to appoint a being certain positions if his or her qualities were recognized as adequate by themselves and enough peers. The group dug deeply into her profile, discovering exam scores that reflected her knowledge. It was phenomenal to see such scores obtained at her age back in the Academy. As a child, the young woman was well-versed in mathematics, biology and linguistics. Her exceptional knowledge allowed her to pass each exam with flying colors. She excelled through the typical Shinobi categories, such as knowing of chakra, weaponry, ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu. In one file, it was even noted that she was well educated in the histories of many villages, not just their own.

It was decided that Anemone would then be of great use to their village by appointing the Chūnin to function as an Academy teacher. It was a good decision; she would be surrounded by young children and teaching subjects that she was already well educated in. She would be able to pass on her knowledge to those younger peers, allowing her a sense of leadership. But also, Anemone would be occupied daily, which could help her stray from any source of gnawing illness.
